Cassie Miller

Software Developer

Before Volano Software, Cassie Miller was creating Unity game experiences. She worked on a robot simulation game based on an actual robot from PrairieSTEM. The game Cassie was a part of creating had 6 single-player levels and a multiplayer arena where students could compete against one another. One of her greatest accomplishments on this project was creating a robotic arm attachment that could pick up objects in the world. She puts those acquired problem-solving skills to use for Volano clients by developing front-end software and interactive UI for a pleasing user experience. She loves the environment of Volano and the ability to work alongside other developers — this helps her bounce ideas off each of the other software developers and hear points of view she may not have thought of. In Cassie's free time she loves making interactive games. She's been actively working on a small cat game using genetics to generate a variety of fur patterns, colors, and sizes and plans to make it into an exploration game. She also tends to a small vegetable garden. A lesser-known factoid is that Cassie studies Japanese from time to time and even studied abroad in Japan for 6 months.
