Volano creates and delivers a lot of software. At any given time we have around 25 projects going on for our clients that are in a variety of business sectors. We need help keeping our arms around everything to ensure we’re producing the quality that’s expected by following our process.
This might sound like project management and it’s true there are a few components of PM that are part of this role, but it’s much, much more:
- Ensuring each step of our process, “The Volano Flow”, is followed
- Leading communication between the delivery team and client
- Serving as a point of contact to ensure team actions remain in synergy
- Identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects
- Motivating people involved in the project to complete tasks on time
- Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needed
- Maintaining project timeframes, iterations, estimates and status reports
- Creating and distributing agendas for client meetings
- Assuring quality of deliverables throughout the development process
- Collating and augmenting test plans
- Performing final internal system testing
- Assisting in curating the backlog of multiple clients and projects
