Intuitive Website Drives Student Recruitment Experience

Iowa Western Community College is a progressive, growing school that needed help with their website to help attract new students as well as bring together various functions at the college in a one-stop-shop style place.

Challenge

IWCC has many areas of focus, one of which is recruiting new students. Recruiting requires a multi-faceted approach and relies heavily on a well-crafted digital experience. The college has a team dedicated to technology but also uses partners and vendors to augment internal efforts. IWCC has partnered with Volano on multiple projects, so when the college needed a new website experience, the team turned to us to implement the technology behind the new look and feel.

Solution

Volano consulted with IWCC on all the technology aspects of the new website including content management systems (CMS), integrations with content providers and third-party components, and restructuring the way the course catalog would be presented. The IWCC team determined the mandated course catalog product was not meeting their needs, so we created a course database. We also provided help with the backend CMS when the incumbent provider wasn't as responsive as IWCC needed them to be.
