Some might say Jill Smith’s title should be “Ambassador of Goodness” due to the gifts she bestows on the Volano team on a weekly basis including baked goods, making popcorn in the office popcorn machine, stocking soda in the fridge, and making sure the liquor cabinet is well-curated. She’s also responsible for accounting, which includes payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Needless to say, she’s important around here.
Jill has managed accounting for Volano for over five years, but has been hearing about Volano for much, much longer – she’s married to co-founder Rod Smith. Prior to joining the team, Jill managed a dental office for many years and also stayed at home for a period of time to raise her three daughters.
Jill’s favorite thing to do in the summer is boating. When the weather turns cold, she likes to bake and make crafts. Her cinnamon rolls are legendary in southwest Iowa where she’s originally from. Jill also volunteers to help people who are food insecure in our community.
As Jill’s December 11 birthday often gets overshadowed by the holidays, Rod suggests you send her a birthday gift card to help make up for it.
Zuri, Jill’s dog, comes to Volano most days and can be found patiently waiting for people to drop food.
